A Guide To Cornwall...

So I live in the deep south-west which for some apparent reason has become quite a holiday destination for folk who live up the line and in quite a few cases people who live in completely separate countries. Every summer it is rammed packed with tourists so I thought I would compile a little guide to give you some insight to what Cornwall is really like...

Shopping
Now if you want to go to shops such as H&M,Topshop,Zara,Primark etc. I'm sorry you are out of luck, to access shops like that you will have to travel for a little while. For me it takes me about 40 minutes to get to my nearest Topshop and about 1 hour and a half to get to Primark! However if your partial to a pasty my local town is for you. And you don't have just one choice of pasty shop. Oh no, my local town boasts a total 8 pasty shops. They not only other the bog standard traditional Cornish pasty with the beef and veg but also for the more adventurous of holiday makers out there they offer flavours such as "Tuna Bacon" "Cheese Beans" "Lamb + Mint" ...

Transport
If you come from a big city to Cornwall you may have a shock where transport is concerned. There are no tubes, few taxi's and buses which cost a small fortune and only go around twice a day. The most common mode of transport for locals is the John Deere tractor. On average about 56 pass through my village each day. And it is fairly common to see them parked up with a tank of cow shit attached to the back of them. Lovely.

Food
So not only is Cornwall famous for the pasty but also for the whole scone, jam and cream combination. And just in case you were wondering jam always goes on first and then the clotted cream. No exception!
The left side= the right way...

Weather
If your planning to come to Cornwall do not under any circumstances forget to bring your wellies as well as a waterproof coat, an umbrella and plenty on dry clothes. Regardless to the time of year rain is very persistent in our part of the country.

Fashion
The most common attire in Cornwall has got to be the trusty overall. But what do you expect? The majority of the population are farmers. Although the overall does not do much for sex appeal it is a necessity to keep your Sunday best from being covered in cow urination.

So there is a little glimpse into the life lead in Cornwall.
Just in case in didn't come across during the post, sarcasm was used heavily throughout this piece...
Until next time.
